Domaine du Tix - Cuvée des Grandes Pointes Viognier 2007
Domaine du Tix - Cuvée des Grandes Pointes Viognier 2007
Our Price: $23.00

The immediate impression is of white flowers and ripe pear and quince. The full texture of the wine in the mouth is very pleasing and with a surprising amount of balanced acid that often lacks in Viognier. The finish returns to white flowers, subtle amounts of honeycomb and is quite refreshing. Drink now with salads, lobster bisque, or sauced white fishes.

Our Price: $23.00

Just off clear in the glass, the nose on the 2008 viognier is subtle with notes of flowers, white peach, wet stones and a touch of melon. Clean and bright on the palate with medium viscosity and flavors that continue from the nose, but an added sense of ripe pear. Crisp finish with a resurgence of wet stone and pear. Serve with lighter seafood and poultry dishes or as an aperitif.

Our Price: $45.00
Sale Price: $32.00

Plenty of ripeness on the nose as would be expected from 2007. Peach, gardenias, and some tropical flavors on the nose. Balanced acid offsets the ripeness of the fruit that covers the palate. The finish is surprisingly mineral driven given the fruit forward nose indicating that the viognier was harvested on time without developing any flabbiness at all. Given the ripeness of the vintage, drink it now. Enjoy with fish, cream based soups, or on its own. 1,150 cases made.
Jean-Michel Gerin - Condrieu "La Loye" 2008
Our Price: $45.00

The challenging 2008 vintage presented a very floral and structured wine. The nose is of white flowers and anise. The body is fully developed and the mid-palate full, but with added acid and zip on the finish. White peach and mild apple flavors mingle with a keen minerality. Enjoy now or for the next 4-5 years with a variety of cheeses, seafood or on its own. Especially good with the 2008 is goat cheese.
