We were hit by a severe hail storm on Saturday afternoon July 26 and lost 50% of our crop. The only positive out of this situation was that it was early in the season and the damaged grapes dried and fell off prior to harvest. As a result we produced only 24 HL/HA. After a prolonged malolactic fermentation we bottled the wine in September 2009. The result is a wine that is predominated by black fruits, with a pure nose and long finish. We only made 600 cases in 2008 with 15% new oak.

A fresh clean, classic Meursault with bright crisp yet ripe full flavors. Intense flavors that include apple, pear, and hazelnut notes. The finish is vibrant and glycerin with a touch of influence from the 20% new oak. Crisp enough to be enjoyed as an aperitif, but certainly has the strength and body to handle a meal of grilled chicken, lightly sauced white fish or salads. This is village Meursault at its finest from the well respected plot in Les Grands Charrons, which is located immediately behind the family home. Will drink best from 2012-2014.

Seductive and wonderfully exotic nose of smoky spice, citrus and flowers leading to bigger, richer, and fuller flavors. Mouth filling. Solidly precise and tangy finish that shows a touch more citrus and vanilla. Very good balance and will serve well with meals that range from light chicken and fish all the way to un-sauced veal. 25% new oak is used to provide spice and richness, but is completely integrated into the complex fruit and minerality of the wine. Will drink best from 2012-2014+.

The aromatic purity is truly admirable with the high-toned aromas of ripe orchard fruits, particularly pear and apricot and precise and understated flavors that reflect the minerality. The middle is a burst of flavor with orange marmalade and richness. The minerality and length of finish are impressive as this wine balances the extreme ripeness of the vintage with the subtleties that reflect the vineyard and the appellation. The oak is just enough to lend a little spice and is well balanced in the low impact winemaking approach. Enjoy with richly sauces fishes and pork, or on its own with special friends. 175 cases produced, will cellar for 10 years with ease.

A strikingly complex nose that becomes more complex as it opens with breadth of aromas including pear, flower, spice, and apple that complement its perfection. The rich and mouth coating flavors are built on a base of fine minerality and, coming from vines just 50 meters from the hallowed Le Montrachet vineyard, this is not a wine that disappoints. Will drink best from 2013-2016+.

Our Corton Charlemagne arrives at the end of the harvest so that we have good ripeness. Its power is always there however, it is simply a question that the vintage decides when it wants to show it all off. The 2007’s purity and linear nature is classic; it will need at least 5-7 years to open. 50% new oak.
