Eric Isselée Champagne - Grande Sélection, NV
Our Price: $36.00

This champagne is produced from 70% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir from the Isselée’s family vineyard. The chardonnay is a blend that includes fruit from the Grand Cru vineyard as well. It shows subtle yeast on the nose with floral accents and tropical fruit. The wine is soft and balanced in the mid palate with strong chardonnay influence and the forward fruit finishes in a crisp and refreshing way with strength and structure being contributed by the Pinot Noir.

Eric Isselée Champagne - Cuvée Rosé NV
Our Price: $42.00

The wine is 15% pinot noir vintified as red still wine blended with chardonnay and pinot meunier, leading to a delightful salmon-pink tint. The wine has a hint of a fruity nose that is very inviting and a full, but not powerful palate that make the wine a great aperitif or accompaniment to a berry tart. The finish is refreshing, clean and soft. Though light, this champagne is not overly effervescent and will therefore be very comfortable with light meals, even poultry. Fantastic stuff for a celebration, or an afternoon meal.

Our Price: $49.00

This 100% chardonnay champagne reflects the quality of the 2004 vintage with great balance of power, fruit and acid. The nose has bountiful fruit, and mineral that prepares the drinker for the full-bodied flavor to come. Very smooth and shows great depth. The finish is long and refined and leaves a finish of pear, apple and mineral. It would go very well with a meal such as duck breast or a light fish. Because it is so well balanced, this champagne would please the most discriminating palate in raising a toast for the most special occasion or as a pleasing aperitif. 200 Cases produced.

Prepared with a single variety, 100% Pinot Meunier from the slopes of Festigny, with grapes from old vines (40 years old on average), this Champagne, produced in a very small quantity, is the crowning jewel of Loriot Champagnes. It reveals to the palate a roundness and elegance scented with subtle aromas that only Pinot Meunier can offer. This wine exhibits notes of flowers and bread on the nose. Domaine Serene - Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir 2007
Our Price: $53.00

From Robert Parker: The 2007 Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve is more substantial with an alluring bouquet of toast, spice box, mineral, earth notes, raspberry, and cherry. Mouth-coating on the palate, it has layered savory fruit, ripe tannin, lively acidity, outstanding concentration, and a lengthy, pure finish. Give it 1-2 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2011 to 2019.

Château Rol Valentin - St. Emilion Grand Cru 2006
Our Price: $55.00

The 2006 Rol Valentin requires patience. I suspect that for the next 12-24 months the wine will taste like a very young Bordeaux when the bottle is first opened: some oak, loads of tannin and just a little fruit. However, after 2-4 hours in the decanter (translate to 3-5 years in the cellar) the game is changed. The nose becomes inviting with notes of berry, cigar and spice. The mid-palate is deep and complex. The flavors of the bouquet are augmented by a mineral component that speak to the quality of much heralded vineyard. The finish is long and gripping with tannin, spice and seriousness that one expects from a top right bank producer. Serve with an elegant full flavored beef dish as the wine can stand up to significant richness. 2,000 cases produced and will cellar well for 15+ years without worry.

Château Rol Valentin - St. Emilion Grand Cru 2008 (750 ML)
Our Price: $57.00

From Wine Spectator Dense, chunky, and muscular, but not revealing much delineation, precision, or character, I suspect this wine is just finishing malolactic. A blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc made from low yields of 28 hectoliters per hectare, it is a full-bodied, but rustic, disjointed effort.

Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils - Meursault "Genevrieres" 1er Cru 2008

Seductive and wonderfully exotic nose of smoky spice, citrus and flowers leading to bigger, richer, and fuller flavors. Mouth filling. Solidly precise and tangy finish that shows a touch more citrus and vanilla. Very good balance and will serve well with meals that range from light chicken and fish all the way to un-sauced veal. 25% new oak is used to provide spice and richness, but is completely integrated into the complex fruit and minerality of the wine. Will drink best from 2012-2014+.

Piero Busso - Barbaresco "San Stefanetto" 2007
Our Price: $69.00

True to the typical San Stefanetto cuvee, the 2007 vintage is a firm, yet generous wine endowed with notable purity and depth in its dark, ripe and abundant fruit flavors. Truffles, worn-in leather, spices and cherry round out this harmonious, beautifully balanced Barbaresco. Though undeniably drinkable today, the wine will benefit from time in bottle to help soften the ripe but firm tannins. 480 cases made.

Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils - Meursault "Les Charmes" 1er Cru 2008

The aromatic purity is truly admirable with the high-toned aromas of ripe orchard fruits, particularly pear and apricot and precise and understated flavors that reflect the minerality. The middle is a burst of flavor with orange marmalade and richness. The minerality and length of finish are impressive as this wine balances the extreme ripeness of the vintage with the subtleties that reflect the vineyard and the appellation. The oak is just enough to lend a little spice and is well balanced in the low impact winemaking approach. Enjoy with richly sauces fishes and pork, or on its own with special friends. 175 cases produced, will cellar for 10 years with ease.
