Domaine Yannick Amirault - Saint Nicolas de Bourgeuil
Domaine Yannick Amirault - Saint Nicolas de Bourgeuil "La Mine" 2007
Our Price: $23.00
Sale Price: $15.00

The 2007 La Mine offers a bright nose of spice and muted fruit. The varietal, cabernet franc, shows itself with a touch of graphite on the nose blended with influences from oak. The middle is soft and smooth with loads of spice box flavors that persist from front to back. The finish is long with refreshing berry and varietal character. Enjoy with lean red meat, pork, or roasted chicken. Not too heavy, but plenty of spice makes this wine useful with many dishes. Enjoy now through 2012.
Jean-Michel Gerin - Condrieu
Jean-Michel Gerin - Condrieu "La Loye" 2007
Our Price: $45.00
Sale Price: $32.00

Plenty of ripeness on the nose as would be expected from 2007. Peach, gardenias, and some tropical flavors on the nose. Balanced acid offsets the ripeness of the fruit that covers the palate. The finish is surprisingly mineral driven given the fruit forward nose indicating that the viognier was harvested on time without developing any flabbiness at all. Given the ripeness of the vintage, drink it now. Enjoy with fish, cream based soups, or on its own. 1,150 cases made.
Château Rol Valentin - St. Emilion Grand Cru 2007
Château Rol Valentin - St. Emilion Grand Cru 2007
Our Price: $57.00
Sale Price: $40.00

Like the 2006, the 2007 Rol Valentin requires patience. I suspect that for the next 12-24 months the wine will taste like a very young Bordeaux when the bottle is first opened: some oak, loads of tannin and just a little fruit. However, after 2-4 hours in the decanter (translate to 3-5 years in the cellar) the game is changed. The nose becomes inviting with notes of berry, cigar and spice. The mid-palate is deep and complex. The flavors of the bouquet are augmented by a mineral component that speak to the quality of much heralded vineyard. The finish is long and gripping with tannin, spice and seriousness that one expects from a top right bank producer. Serve with an elegant full flavored beef dish as the wine can stand up to significant richness. 2,000 cases produced and will cellar well for 15+ years without worry.
Maison Alex Gambal Vineyards - Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2007
Maison Alex Gambal Vineyards - Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2007
Our Price: $125.00
Sale Price: $95.00

From Alex Gambal Vineyards:
Our Corton Charlemagne arrives at the end of the harvest so that we have good ripeness. Its power is always there however, it is simply a question that the vintage decides when it wants to show it all off. The 2007’s purity and linear nature is classic; it will need at least 5-7 years to open. 50% new oak.
